Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective and least costly ways to prevent crime and reduce fear. It forges bonds among area residents, helps reduce burglaries, entering autos, juvenile crimes, etc., and also improves relations between police and the communities they serve.
DeKalb County utilizes a program called Interactive Community Policing (ICP) which assigns an officer to a community to create a direct link between neighborhoods and the DeKalb Police. Our officer is Daryl Yarbro, and many of you have met him at our Homeowner’s Association meetings. He is a great guy and not only has done much to help suppress crime in our area, he has been readily available to answer questions and educate us on crime prevention.
